These notes refer to named programmes on this site. They are not interchangeable praise. One of them still wishes the SQL labs had used a different warehouse.
After the Retention Ledger’s cohort-window module we stopped publishing weekly stickiness. The board paper is uglier and, for the first time, reconstructable. I would not call the Tuesdays convenient.

The taxonomy workshop made our checkout event stop meaning three different things. Finance noticed before product did.

A client in grocery delivery rebuilt a registration funnel after Funnel Integrity and found that 31% of “sign-ups” were retry noise from a flaky OTP. They still use the vendor UI for browsing. They no longer quote its default funnel in the weekly email.

Quiet Instrumentation was the right length. I wanted BigQuery examples; the house insisted on the logic first and let me translate. Mildly annoying. Correct.

Night Table was expensive for a series of conversations. It also stopped us adding a “sentiment” event that would have been unlawful to keep. I am not sure I enjoyed it. I am sure we needed it.

Retiring a chart the marketing calendar loved.
A United Kingdom meal-kit company had reported “weekly stickiness” for eleven quarters. The ratio used a generous notion of activity — any session, including password resets. After a Ledger Room seat, the product director published a four-week household cohort ledger instead.
Returning households were fewer than the old chart implied. The following month’s acquisition calendar was cut, not expanded. Marketing was unhappy for a fortnight. The CFO kept the ledger format for the next two quarters.

Sign-ups that were not people.
A regulated payments app in the United Kingdom counted every successful OTP as a new user. Funnel Integrity rebuilt the path from raw events and identity. Nearly a third of the top-of-funnel volume was the same thumbs retrying a slow SMS gateway. The growth narrative changed; the SMS vendor was replaced first.
A reservation we kept
The warehouse mismatch.
Several Pulse Desk readers asked for BigQuery notebooks. The house still demonstrates windowing in a warehouse-agnostic SQL dialect and a dated spreadsheet. That choice slows some engineers. We have not changed it, because the artefact is the ledger, not a dialect.
